About me
My name is Fabricio do Carmo and I am from Brazil. I was born in 1984 in Central Brazil and was raised near Campinas – a big town inland from São Paulo. Since I was young I was interested in creating jewellery and objects. Self-taught as well as through support from other artists, I learned to make jewellery by using different kinds of techniques, some of them very old. I worked with wire, stones and natural materials like leather, seeds or feathers.
Since 2009 I have been living and working in Vienna where I also enjoyed my education as a goldsmith and silversmith. In 2011 I passed the final apprenticeship examination and in 2014 I graduated as a master craftsman.
While creating and making jewellery, emotions play a big role. With commissioned work I find it very important for the client to have the opportunity to bring his or her emotions and ideas to the table. During a detailed conversation I give the client the chance to get as creatively involved as he or she wishes. During the next step, I produce one or several sketches and after feedback and any changes the actual production can begin.
All my pieces are produced by me personally and are one of a kind. They stand out through precise workmanship as well as premium, fair trade materials.
